The Student Government Association (SGA) will meet to finalize and propose a draft of Webster’s smoking policy Feb. 22.
The committee overseeing the proposal will review and revise this policy based on student and faculty reception.
SGA initially voted to put a smoking ban to a student vote in March 2016, but the policy proposal has had a rough road since then.
In April, SGA was asked to revise their proposed policy by administration and chose to hold off the vote until the following semester. A committee was formed to revise the language with input from the Human Resources Office, the Wellness Committee, Faculty Senate and the Webster Staff Alliance.
In September, SGA announced they would ask faculty and staff to vote on the policy as well before submitting the final policy to the administration.
